Here are more successful lighting situations.
Silence , like emptiness, has many forms. There is the silence of resentment, the silence of awe, the silence of anger, of not understanding, of peace, of coming storm, of rock and water, of crowds and of solitude.
He might think to comment and list his own achievements. But what could he say that they would understand? Painting has shaped his life. It’s not something he does; it’s who he is. To comment to the chatting aristocrats would be to cheapen his life, and reduce it.

This picture reminds me of the silence of solitude. What kind of silence do you think of?
“When a newly married couple smiles, everyone knows why. When a ten-year married couple smiles, everyone wonders why.”
I think in ten years we’ll be wondering why there still smiling. There are so many people that get married because of a child or the fear of being alone. There are very few were it makes sense. I wish these two a long happy life.
These are a few of my favorite shots from the wedding. It was my first wedding shooting photographs. I really give credit to professional wedding photographers. I underestimated the amount of stress and work it requires to shoot a wedding. Yes, it was my brothers wedding, so it wasn’t demanding; however, I can see where the pressure would come from. It was a wonderful learning experience, and hopefully I can shoot some more weddings.
A few days ago, I was given a chance to shoot these girls for a friends portfolio. It was quit an experience. I have never had a makeup and hair person during a photo shoot. It definitely made the photographs more interesting. It was difficult to control the light because the clouds were moving so fast. The sun was very directional at times, and very diffused by the clouds ten-seconds later. The shoot challenged me to be quick with lighting the models.
My reflector, and reflector holder (Trevor) helped so much. I have never used a reflector, and I learned how important they are when there is no flash available.
In the recent weeks, spring has been showing up everywhere. In my yard, there are two trees, which I don’t know what they are. This is a photo of the flowers. It resembles growth, and the beginning of a new day. Spring is a time for change, and reflection of what’s worked in the past. This picture was taken at 7:45 in the morning so the light was flattering. I used a fast lens to throw everything behind the main subject out of focus. Ideally I would have shot with a little dew on the flowers; however, I think the flowers are beautiful.
